The rocky coast of DownEast Maine is home to Coastal Cottage Studio.  The studio opened in 1992 and has kept artist Barbara Johnson busy providing customers all over the country with quality hand painted and functional furnishings and accessories.

Now Barbara is pleased to announce her try at E-Commerce.  This web site provides a sampling of some of the work that many people have discovered provides both beauty and function in their home or cottage.

Many of the items presented on the following pages are constructed by local woodcrafters and a few by the artist herself.  Other items featured occasionally will be "one of a kind" pieces, taken from the barn or scrap pile and resurrected to heirloom quality.  These pieces will be offered on a monthly basis.
